Whether you prefer hiking, cycling, or just going on a leisurely walk with your family, Wasaga has over 100 km of trails to explore. Here are some options near Wasaga Walk to check out the next time you want some fresh air!

Hiking in Wasaga

1. Carly Patterson Memorial Trail
Only 5 minutes from Wasaga Walk, the Carly Patterson Memorial Trail is a moderate-level loop trail that boasts gorgeous scenery, wildlife, and creekside trails. This 10 km trail takes an average of 2 hours and 40 minutes to complete, but it is worth it! The trail takes you along a combination of forested paths, residential roads, and creekside trails, providing a combination of natural landscapes with community life.

2. Georgian Trail Collingwood Trailhead
Following the former railway corridor, the Georgian Trail Collingwood Trailhead is the eastern starting point of this 34 km trail from Collingwood to Meaford. The trail grounds are crushed stone and compact soil, making it suitable for hiking and cycling for all skill levels. Plus, the trail is open year-round, so you can go cross-country skiing or snowshoeing in the winter.

3. Ganaraska Hiking Trail
The Ganaraska Hiking Trail can be accessed from Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. Stretching across the Bruce Trail, this trail suits different skill levels. You can choose between the shorter 5 km hike through the park or an extended portion of the trail that takes you through Wasaga Beach. The beauty of this trail is that it includes a starting point where you walk along Allenwood Beach and continues into forest hiking through Wasaga Beach Provincial Park.

4. Singehampton Caves Trailhead
Situated within the Nottawasaga Lookout Provincial Nature Preserve, this 1.9 km loop trail is under a 20-minute drive from Wasaga Walk. This year-round trail that takes an hour to an hour and a half to complete features a series of moss-covered rock formations and crevices.

5. Blueberry Plains Trail
If you’re looking for a trail where you can experience diverse ecosystems, check out Blueberry Plains Trail. Less than 15 minutes from Wasaga Walk, this moderate 4 km trail can be accessed from different points within Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. Along the hike, you are sure to see some wildlife and rare wildflowers, plus rare pine savannah and sand dunes. This trail is also open in the winter for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
